moment

So every once in a while on nights like last night, I experience one of my favorite parts about LA. Mondays are street cleaning days, and I usually get home pretty late in the night from church, so I'm forced to drive around for probably 10 minutes looking for parking, in general, much less the Tuesday street cleaning side. Last night I didn't have to venture too far away from my house, just up the block to park on Fountain street. Fountain is a pretty busy street during the day and it gets spurts of busy cars flying by at night. So I get out of my car and walk down the street usually listening to the whoosh and hum of motor vehicles, and then.... my favorite part, the brief moments of silence you catch between hoards of cars. It is fleeting, but it's there, silence! silence in LA. It's the moment you take to appreciate the view, the few stars you can actually catch in the sky and the still air around you. it's nice.

Yesterday at church our pastor preached on healing, and it was almost like a tutorial service, because he told us the steps he took, all the while waiting on the Holy Spirit, and then basically we broke up into groups and prayed for someone if they were physically hurt in their body. Our little group prayed for this woman Monique and her daughter Brittany. Both of them had been in multiple car accidents and we experiencing back pain. Monique said hers was pulsating and she was sore in her neck most of the time, while for Brittany she couldn't stand or sit up without her back aching all the time. So we prayed for both of them and they were both healed! It's faith and the Holy Spirit acting together. It's so great to see people come out of bondage.

Today was pretty productive, because I was in a street cleaning spot I decided I'd just get up and go to school early to work, instead of running out in my pj's to move my car at 8am. So, I got up, ate breakfast and grabbed work to do. When I got to school I forgot that my parking pass had run out, so he was nice enough to let me go get money, come back and pay him by 5 oclock. So I ate lunch at the grocery store and got cash back in order to pay him. I had a bunch of books to drop off too, so I did everything at once, one trip. Then I had class, and realized it's already week 8, meaning we are done in two weeks! I have a whole heck of a lot of work to do before then!! Oh my goodness do I. Tonight I worked on this notebook project compilation, but always spend more time on it than i anticipate because either someone gets their part to me late or it's incomplete. Sometimes it's rough making others look good. But in the end we turn in a great product and that's all that matters to me.

gross. a daddy long legs just crawled across my bed. ick.

I also worked on some specs tonight for other classes and tomorrow I hope to get a jump start working on my floorplan changes for Retail Design Concepts.

I met with the department chair and we discussed next quarter. I only have classes two days a week! Which means I have plenty of time, or rather a schedule that lends better to my working than this quarter does. This quarter allows me more time on campus, but I think that I'll be able to do most of my work from home because I'll finally have the software, and some is drafting. They are all studio classes, so I'll be doing a lot of drafting, and sitting.

Well. I best be off to bed, I have an early wake up call in the morning. Tues/Thrs are my 6:30am mornings and my huge, long breaks at school. More time to work on homework! Goodnight!

Hi Sweetie..enjoyed your latest adventures and insights to life in LA. It's so much fun to experience it with you. How wonderful to have such a huge Utah family...we are a pretty tiny lot up here compared to there. However, small is good, and we can hardly wait to get together...in what?...18 days!!! I hate to admit this, but I haven't sent out one card and have purchased only a few gifts....hmmmm. Christmas ships are sailing by the house this Sat. That always gets us in the Christmas spirit...speaking of Spirit, we loved reading about the healing that took place during your prayer time...God is so awesome. Glad you found a church you feel at home in.....we send our love.....Grandpa and Nana
